What leaves your browser

Only your VIN, and only when you press Check my car. Your browser sends it straight to the VIN decoder run by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) at vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov. It is not sent to us. We send no referrer, so NHTSA doesn't learn which page you came from. NHTSA's handling of requests is covered by its own privacy policy.

Your answers to the questions, your loan figures and your income never leave your browser. There is no account, no form that submits to a server, and no database. The page's security policy blocks it from contacting any other site.

Today this site sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

Advertising (planned)

We plan to show ads through Google AdSense to pay for the site. When ads are switched on, this page will be updated first, and a consent message will be shown where the law requires one. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites.
